Hi guys,
I'm not quite sure, but isn't it right that setup is capable of handling xz compressed tar files in the meantime? Chris, does upset handle them as well? If so, shouldn't we start to switch to .tar.xz files? As far as I understand from a discussion on the gdb list (the discussion has gone awry but that doesn't change the facts), the file size goes down and uncompressing with xz is faster than uncompressing with bzip2. That would help to speed up installation and update a bit, faster download, faster uncompression.
