If GTK+ isn't working then pygtk certainly won't either.

Make sure that you have the newer versions of everything GTK+ related
from Ports instead of those in the distro; see my message from 05 July
for details.

Once you get your C GTK+ working, then I think you'll find that pygtk
works as well, save perhaps a rebaseall.
