I have installed KDE but cannot get it to run. :-(

startx still starts up that minimalist X shell window.

Google has found me all kinds of answers, none of which make any sense...

E.g., change the twm line in /usr/lib/X11R6/startxwin.sh

There is no such line, and that file specifically says do NOT do that if you 
use -multidisplay, which I am using, and would like to use...

I can't even find a 'startkde' to throw into my .xinitrc as another suggested.

I know there is SOME file somewhere I can edit to set the default window 
manager, but can never find the silly thing...
