I have just branched cygport.

1.5 support will be maintained in branches/cygwin-1.5, which will soon
be a stable 0.4.0. As of today, this branch will only run on 1.5.
Further development of this branch will be mostly bug fixes, and will be
supported at least until 1.7 goes stable.

SVN trunk is now 0.9, which will lead to a stable 1.0 when cygwin-1.7
goes stable. This branch will only run on 1.7. Development will begin
with adapting cygport to 1.7 itself (e.g. today's removal of managed
mount code), and will continue with the agreed-to packaging scheme
changes as discussed on cygwin-apps and with new features.

I anticipate some ABI/API breakage in 0.9, partly due to the 1.7-related
changes, and partly to fix some issues which couldn't be fixed
otherwise. My intention is to do these ASAP so as not to disrupt the
rebuilding of packages once gcc-4.3 is available. I will outline the
anticipated changes in a separate message for further discussion.

FYI, the ports trunk is still 1.5 for now; I anticipate branching once
gcc-4.3 is released for 1.7.
