All your STCs tend to involve downloading and rebuilding entire packages
and then tracking down a bug in a large and complex executable, which is why I
haven't been keen to pursue them ...
However, I've just tried ilmbase, and your example there worked fine:

I'm fairly sure you're just running into that known bug we fixed about
zeroing out the forkee field. Don't you just need to be using a recent post
-62 snapshot or fresh build from cvs head?
