Hi,

I'm trying to get gnome-terminal to work on a FAT32 thumb drive.

Following the instructions on http://cygwinports.org/, I installed
Cygwin and gnome-terminal.

However, it fails to bring up a gnome-terminal.

Copying the entire cygwin directory to the C: drive and starting
up gnome-terminal, works just fine.

So I suspect that this has to do with file permissions.

I set the variable G_DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1_KEYRING_DIR_IGNORE_PERMISSION
as specified on http://library.gnome.org/devel//gio/2.26/ch03.html
but that didn't work.

I turned on debugging an saw the message:

.
.
.
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: Trying to choose mechanism
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: Trying mechanism `DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1'
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: writing `AUTH DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1 30\r\n'
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: WaitingForData
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: WaitingForData, read=`REJECTED EXTERNAL
DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1 ANONYMOUS'
GDBus-debug:Auth: CLIENT: Done, authenticated=0

How can I get gnome-terminal to work on a FAT32 thumb drive?

Thanks.
