Thought you should know that I had significant issues with both methods of
accessing cygports. Using setup.exe with the ftp site was a total bust.
setup.exe connected to the ftp server to retreive the .ini file just fine,
but repeated attempts to install something failed when the ftp server simply
stopped responding. I left installs running all day, over one night without
a single successful conckusion. Nor could I use the http mirror as the
setup.exe app complained about the signature of the .ini file and promptly
ignored the cygports host.
I was able,finally, to follow the advice found in the mail archive to use
apt-cyg to connect to the http mirror and successfully install some
applications.
