Thank you for the assistance. I can report success for the amarok application when when I use the "Xwin Server" shortcut from the start menu when amarok is listed in .startxwinrc. amarok takes about 5 minutes to start but it is functional.
I also have kdenlive listed in .startxwinrc, but kdenlive doesn't load properly at all (including when it is the only entry in .startxwinrc). If kdenlive is the only entry in .startxwinrc I do notice that when I right click the systray icon for the Xwin server after about 5 minutes the X server reports the number of clients as 8 from an initial value of 2 and if do not cancel the X server and let the X Server continue to run another 5 minutes the number of clients changes from 8 to 4 and continues to report a value of 4 for at least an hour before I shutdown the X server. Also, the kde desktop continues to hang after the icon for the hard drive flahses during the kde splash sequence. As a precaution I installed a virtual machine of winXP pro 32 bit on this host (winXP 64 bit which has the cygwin packages and installation), but I am getting the same results on the vm as the host (kdenlive broken and kde desktop broken with amarok working). I also tried blackbox window manager as a attempt to get kdenlive to start, but the result is that kdenlive doesn't start from the menu even after several hours. I really appreciate the help on this matter and if there is any logs or procedures that may assist in the resolution of getting kdenlive to start working I should be able to either supply or preform them.
