I went ahead and installed as instructed on http://cygwinports.org/
I am only interested in using gedit in cygwin. So I just installed gedit, and clicked finish. It installed a bunch of dependencies. It finished. I go to a new cygwin prompt: gedit Cannot open display: Run 'gedit --help' to see a full list of available command line options. Can you please help me figure out why this error happens?
