Steven, Yup, there is a way. All you have to do is put in about 80 hours of programming and voila!, you'll have the feature that you desire.
Seriously, this has been on the To-Do list for ages: http://xfree86.cygwin.com/devel/todo.html I am currently working on this feature in my spare time, but it is very complex and very difficult to conceptualize what is happening.
