Seriously, Cygwin isn't Linux, it's just a layer that gives a source level compatibility with Unix. A program has to be compiled specifically for cygwin to run.
And last, if you want to run a dedicated server, why do you ask on the cygwin/xfree mailing list? Asking on the cygwin mailing list would be more appriopriate
