Do you mean that you don't want to run an X server on the remote server, but allow remote connections via xdm? If you are running xdm or kdm remotely just comment out the line that starts up the X server in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers. If you are using gdm it may be different, I don't know. Tony Richardson
