You copy text in X11 by highlighting it and, optionally, clicking the Copy button in a menu (if the application has a Copy menu item). Leave the text highlighted just to be sure. To paste that text in Win32, press Ctrl+V.
Try this first with Notepad and an xterm.
If you still do not succeed, send in /tmp/XWin.log from a failed attempt.
