[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ $ /usr/bin/emacs emacs: Cannot connect to X server :0.0. Check the DISPLAY environment variable or use `-d'. Also use the `xhost' program to verify that it is set to permit connections from your machine.
Is there a different way to invoke Xemacs? I do get xemacs as part of my Cygwin install and keep it updated regularly

Aha, so it's emacs and not XEmacs. Search the list, I think there are known problems with emacs or even better download the new proposed version from Joe B�hler. Or maybe switch to XEmacs....
