select another font
xterm -fn 7x13 or xterm -fn 12x24
fontnames can be listed with xlsfonts
or xterm -fa "Courier" -fs 12
fontnames can be listed with fs-list
adding -dpi 100 to the XWin commandline may help too (and installing the
xorg-x11-f100 package)
