I don't see a -4 version, I have the -1 and it works fine. [snip] Looking at the log and from what you describe there are 2 differences with respect of what I use, I start it with "startx" and I have cygserver running (so XWin can use shared memory), also I have the environment variable CYGWIN=server set.
