checking for wctype.h... ./configure: 4: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting "then")

Hello,

Trying to compile gtkmathview, I am getting

checking for wctype.h... ./configure: 4: Syntax error: end of file unexpected 
(expecting "then")

I checked wctype.h in /usr/include/mingw, but can't find anything missing.

Any idea?
