Hello, thanks everybody for this wonderful new toy. Everything works fine for me, but I encountered a couple of minor bugs/omissions in the docs, and here they are. I'm running 4.1.0 on Win98 and am looking at the FAQ at http://xfree86.cygwin.com/faq.html, the user's guide at http://xfree86.cygwin.com/docs/howto/cygwin-xfree-ug.html and the README at ftp://ftp.sunsite.utk.edu/pub/cygwin/xfree/Readme * The "out of environment space" fix with shell=C:\command.com /e:4096 /p should be mentioned in the installation section of the User's guide. * The download list in the user manual should list the doc and man packages as optional. * The XWin man page does not explain the syntax of the -screen option correctly: we need -screen number WidthxHeightxColordepth. It's correct in the user's guide. * The "invalid switch - /B" issue in startxwin.bat should be mentioned somewhere (Win 98 doesn't allow that switch). Workaround: either remove /B and live with lots of window clutter, or edit starxwin.sh and start your X server with a batch file containing the line bash \cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\starxwin.sh and add \cygwin\bin and \cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin to your PATH variable in autoexec.bat * Installation and use of vtwm should be explained somewhere. * starxwin.sh shouldn't use vtwm by default. * Chapter 3 of the user's manual should make clear that you have to edit the XWin line in the startxwin.bat script. The alternative starxwin.sh should be mentioned. * If startxwin.bat gives an error message (for instance because of a faulty -screen option to XWin), the error message and options scroll by too rapidly and there is no way to retrieve them. Some workaround should be explained. * Most horrible of all: xeyes seems to be broken. Again, thank you all very much for your hard work. Cheers, Axel
