Harold No experience with 8.1, I am still using 7.0, however yesterday I upgraded gnome and chose to use it as the login manager on one machine. The default for this is to disable XDCMP (/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf). It seems a little unlikely but gnome isn't the standard login manager for 8.1 is it?

Yesterday I installed two Linux-Mandrake 8.1 machines but neither machine gives me an XDMCP login box when I try to connect. What gives? Has anyone else had similar problems with 8.1? Harold
