Don't be so lengthy if you want to make your point, especially on mailing
lists where we have tons of mails to deal with every day. It's not a style
contest (hopefully).
Regarding autotool:
    1) if you don't like it, don't use it
    2) if you want evolutions, you can contribute/branch if you got the
skills
    3) if you find the maintainer(s) arrogant, find several involved people
to convince the maintainer(s). They will usually come around if enough
experienced guys are pushing (not whining) in the same direction.
