So running cygserver suppresses changing the primary group? That's
weird, because the effect seems so arbitrary.
Correct.
If I run Mintty before Cygserver the gid=545(Users) is coming from
/etc/passwd.
After I run the Cygserver any subsequent process started
from "Start Menu" had the Group gid=197121(NESSUNO)
while any spin off of the first Mintty using ALT+F2 has the
proprer gid=545(Users)
So It seems Cygserver run as service is following a different route
than a normal Mintty run.
Did you try to debug that?
