A new setup release candidate is available at:
https://cygwin.com/setup/setup-2.939.x86_64.exe (64 bit version)
Please test, and report any problems here.
Changes compared to 2.937:
- Add Spanish and Irish Gaelic translations (thanks to weblate
contributors Francisco Serrador and Aindriú Mac Giolla Eoin).
- If no previous (from settings) or explicit (via --site option) mirror
site selection is available, setup measures the approximate speed of the
mirror sites from the site list and presents a speed-sorted site
selection dialog.
Additionally, in unattended mode only, the fastest mirror site is
automatically selected.
If the '--auto-site' option is specified, speed estimation is always
performed, and the fastest mirror (if we were able to determine one)
overrides any previous selection.
- Add 'x64' to the list of synonyms for 'x86_64' accepted by the
'--arch' option.
(Prior to 2.935 we accepted anything containing '32' or '64' as meaning
'x86' or 'x86_64', even though those were the only documented values.)
- Warn about ignored positional (non-option) arguments.
It seems that setup has been silently ignoring non-option arguments
since forever. Really, supplying those should have always been an error,
but changing that now might break existing uses.
This warning may help diagnose cases when the command line arguments are
not being interpreted in the way a user expects.

(partially)
- Fixes to '--build-depends'
In concert with some changes to the setup manifest, this option should
now work as expected for all source packages which record this information.
Also, if an install package name is specified, the option now behaves as
if the associated source package name was given.
- The certificate used for AuthentiCode signing has been updated.
The SHA256 fingerprint of the new certificate is
3AB2B14363B58A1856D4902C737797C899118095F7025DF7832C1B52483865A0.
