Yes, you were right. It wasn't a cygwin binary. It's a mystery to me how could it get there. I had cygwin wget package installed, and reinstall placed the right binary there.
Like cgf, I can't reproduce. It looks like the wget binary D:\tools\cygwin\bin\wget.exe is not a Cygwin binary, despite being in a directory path having the word "cygwin" in it. Please run `cygcheck D:/tools/cygwin/bin/wget.exe' and paste the output into your reply. Also, did you try the latest developer snapshot from http://cygwin.com/snapshots/ to see if the problem persists? Iff it's a problem, that is... Corinna
