Hard to say without more information, as requested in > Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html but I suspect you have stale mounts from your previous install. See where your mounts point to by running the "mount" command. Then run "mount -sf d:/cygwin /; mount -sf d:/cygwin/bin /usr/bin; mount -sf d:/cygwin/lib /usr/lib" and reinstall.
