When you connect via ssh, you get a login shell. When you connect via sftp, you get a non-login shell, which communicates with the sftp command via standard output. Make sure your non-login shell doesn't print anything (say, from .bashrc). FWIW, 1920298606 in hex is 72756E6E (which also spells "runn").
