-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I updated my cygwin installation, and lost my personal settings in app-defaults/Rxvt (now relocated). I presume this is a side effect of the 'addition' of some backgroundPixmap stuff to that file, per the description of rxvt-20050409-9 2008-11-15 in /usr/share/doc/Cygwin/rxvt-20050409.README
If I'm right that this change overwrites, without backing up, the whole app-defaults/Rxvt file, that's. . .unhelpful. Looking at the preremove and postinstall scripts, it looks like this might have been inadvertent, in that the postinstall script installs the default in /etc/X11/app-defaults only if there is nothing there already (correct), _but_ the preremove script in fact removes /etc/X11/app-defaults/Rxvt (incorrect)! Many thanks to Chuck Wilson for maintaining this package, but in future, please try harder not to trash config files without saving a backup. . . ht - -- Henry S.
