libpng-1.0.8-2 is ready for testing at http://cygutils.netpedia.net/testing/libpng-1.0.8-2.tar.gz http://cygutils.netpedia.net/testing/libpng-1.0.8-2-src.tar.gz (not using sourceware for test releases -- it's hard for folks to get them from the private directories since they're not mirrored). Changes from 1.0.8-1: o updates from 1.0.9pre3 (I've tested these, but they only apply to the asm acceleration code -- which isn't included in the binary package. So, I didn't bump the version number) o follows new naming scheme for dlls: /usr/lib/libpng.dll.a (import lib) /usr/lib/libpng.a (static lib) /usr/bin/cygpng2.dll (dll **) o requires zlib-1.1.4-5 (**) png-developers specify that 1.x.y packages have an interface version number of 2. The 2.x.y packages are forthcoming, and will be have a version number of 3. Installation: Download libpng-1.0.8-2.tar.gz and either: put it in an empty directory with setup.exe run setup (install from local directory) or unpack from '/': cd / && tar xvzf libpng-1.0.8-2.tar.gz You MUST also install zlib-1.1.4-5 or better.
