I apparently set the heap size up too high for some Windows 9x systems.
It works fine for me, of course.

The workaround is the standard one for cygwin and is detailed here:

Alternatively, you may be able to extract the included file to a known
directory and say:

regedit /s x:\wherever\you\put\it\size.reg

This loads the registry with a new default size for cygwin to use when
allocating the heap.
