I _WAS_ "venting."

In some cultures, venting is done in "good taste." It just resembles
English, but it's quite another language in terms of subtext, (and more so
if it's female). Different rules of engagement. Don't mistake it for
weakness. Normal ROE: maintain absolute decorum and diplomacy right up to
the ambush.

Here, I will summon up an insult for you, brace yourself: ..."Faustine, I
bet you drink beer directly from the can."

Notice I did not directly reply to Tim. This is because some cultural
influences in my family have raised me with the myth that men can be killed
by such things as pouting, glaring, never speaking to them again, denying
their existence, indirect insults, and a state of "not being received."
Sounds silly, but it was true, to us. Yankees were frowned upon in the
family homestead -- I think up to the early 1950s.
