Indeed, this is just so much wasteful methane infused air blowing. The bottom line is that the FBI, CIA, and NSA have failed to prevent the attacks in the first place. Perhaps or perhas not, now they're attempting to do their job, or at least present that image. It's a day late and several billion dollars too short.
We can't reward failure with more money, it doesn't work, it only incites further failure. We can't have the NSA concentrating on finding which senator or aide leaked the NSA info that the cells would strike on 911. That's not classified information, and should not be. Obviously, there is no special information in the fact that there was an email commanding the cell(s) to attack. That's just a side effect of the greater action. Investigating the leakage of that email or phone call, whatever it was is secondary, and worthless. The bottom line is that our entire law enforcement and intel government sectors failed. Stories such as these are filler. Too little too late. Who gives a shit if there are Arab rich neighborhoods? Are we to resort back to WWII nazi style concentration camps of Arabs just because less than 0.01% of the Arab population in the USA has links to Al Qaeda? If anything such detailed micro-scrutiny of the Arabs will cause those very same Arabs who have not joined Al Qaeda to foster anti-USA resentment, and join the terrorists. It's utterly stupid. They should have been infiltrating Al Qaeda ten years ago when it wasn't a threat. They should have whacked Bin Ladin years ago. Instead, he's being paraded around like the Emmanuel Goldstein character of 1984. Certainly the war for terror is really the war for oil and no amount of stories such as the ones below will change my mind. Yes, we need Al Qaeda destroyed. Yes, Saddam needs to bite the bullet. But call a spade a spade and be honest about it. We don't need Vietnam II. ----------------------Kaos-Keraunos-Kybernetos--------------------------- + ^ + :NSA got $20Bil/year |Passwords are like underwear.
