I seem to recall these sorts of applications for GNURadio were briefly discussed, but they are too esoteric for all but the most competent. As the articles states there appear to be effective countermeasures (e.g., room lighting levels, black on white text, LCDs instead of CRTs, etc.) for this threat. Easier to use GNURadio for snooping CRT RF emanations.
