My favorite reply from that era was "Vietnam: love it or leave it!" At least I lucked out. They ended the draft 2 months before my 18th birthday. My parents told me many years later that they were ready to ship me to Canada. Given how Vancouver is going now, that might have been a nice restful place :-) Patience, persistence, truth, Dr. mike
