Hacker sets password
Yomiuri Shimbun
A hacker who invaded a government think tank Web site
set an access code with a password for entry into the site,
it was learned Friday.
Police suspect the hacker planted the code to monopolize
the Web site of the National Institute for Research
Advancement, which is affiliated with both the Science
and Technology and Economic Planning agencies.
An engineer at the think tank was unable to access the
Web site when he tried to open the first page after the
hacker had broken in.
The Web site, which did not originally require an access
code, displayed a message on the screen demanding a
password. Police are analyzing the characters the hacker
used in the password.
