Tactile Party
                            @
                         the Bend

Hi fellow friends and loved ones,

Please join me in celerating the liberation of
Bryant's Bend from unhappy housemates who have all
finally moved on. It's been a long haul but well
   worth the wait.

So to celebrate this wonderful time, I feel that a
tactile party is in order. :) Sorry for the short
notice to those who didn't receive the pre-invite.

        When: Friday Evening
                June 16th, 2000
                (9pm onward)

        Where: 130 Bryant St.
                Palo Alto, CA 94301

        Host: Lile Elam and friends...

What: Come dressed in something that might
be interesting to touch. The weather
may be hot, so dress appropriately...

And if you can, please bring something
                sensual to share.

Also feel free to bring friends who
might enjoy this type of gathering.

Other: Our house is a non-smoking place but
people can smoke on the front porch or
in the garden out back. I also have a
cat for those who are allergic. The
tactile room is a cat free zone though.

For those who have yet to experience such a party,
it was inspired by a visit I once made to the tactile
dome at the Exploritorium in SF. I was so touched :)
by the experience that I thought it would be a
wonderful thing to bring to a party. (This will be
the second tactile party to happen here at Bryant's
Bend and I think the forth one I have helped inspire)

Following is a brief description of what you might
    expect...

I will have the newly vacated room upstairs completely
dark. (Note that this is not the room I am painting
which is located downstairs! :) We will have a space
where people can *prepare* for the tactile room as well
so you can change here if you like.

People will be required to remove their shoes and
glasses before entering the tactile room and only
bottled water will be allowed inside. We may also
have times when there will be no talking in human
languages.... when only sounds can be made. Prehaps
this will inspire the creation of new sounds and
languages or even a new theme for a camp at
    Burning Man!
                                :)

Nature cd's will be playing as well... with flowing
brooks and rain forest sounds... prehaps even the
calming waves of the ocean surf. If you have sensual
sounds you would like to share, please bring your cd's
or tapes... (music with no words please).

There will be lots of wonderful things to touch and
feel... in the dark so get ready for an awesomely
    sensual experience.

Now there will be a normal party happening on the first
floor for all to enjoy... including those who might feel
unsure about the tactile part. But this will be fun so
I do hope you try it!
