The greatest threat to our freedom

By Alan Caruba web posted July 31, 2000

On June 21, 1788, the United States Constitution became effective after
New
Hampshire became the ninth State to ratify it. It is the oldest functioning
constitution in existence and it has afforded every citizen guarantees of
freedom virtually unknown in most of the world today.

On September 6th through the 8th of this year, the heads of state of many
nations from around the world will gather at the "Millennium Summit" to be
held in New York to "sign, ratify or accede" to the multilateral conventions
deposited with the Secretary General of the United Nations.

There are 514 multilateral treaties involved, the majority of which have
been adopted by the UN General Assembly. A "core group" of these consists of
twenty-five treaties and their purpose is nothing less than to change the
existing UN Charter for the purpose of creating a global government to end the
rights of sovereignty and self-government of all nations. The rationale and
rhetoric supporting this are the lies of communism. Were the United States to
agree to the aims of the "Millennium Summit", your rights as a U.S. citizen
would cease to exist.

What most Americans do not know is that all but one of the seventeen U.S.
Department of State diplomats who helped shaped the original UN were later
identified as secret members of the Communist Party, USA. The UN's first
Secretary General, Alger Hiss, was a Soviet agent. In its 54-year history, all
seven Secretary Generals of the UN have been either dedicated socialists or
communists. All l5 of the UN Under-Secretary-Generals for Political and
Security Council Affairs, in charge of UN military affairs, have been
communists and all but one has come from either the former Soviet Union or the
current Russian Federation. Fully two-thirds of the membership of the General
Assembly, the Security Council, and the World Court have always been
representatives of socialist and communist nations.

What chance do democracy and capitalism have under such circumstances?
None!

By 1999, not one single American held a top decision-making post at the
United Nations over peacekeeping, economic or social programs. The U.S. pays
an estimated one quarter to one third of all UN costs. Just in terms of
peacekeeping activities, the UN owes American taxpayers almost $15 billion.
This amount is equal to the UN pension fund for its employees, among whom is
the former Nazi and Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim, who continues to draw a
$102,000 UN pension.

The 'Millennium Summit' is the culmination of years of effort to install
a
global government upon the world that would fulfill the objectives of
communism; a failed economic system and one kept in place by authoritarianism.
The world would be ruled by a UN with all power ceded to a "People's
Assembly" composed of representatives of non-governmental-organizations
(NGOs).

In April of this year, The Earth Times, subsidized by The New York Times,
carried a front page article titled "Outsiders on the Inside", identifying the
organizations that determine UN policy and programs. They represent some of
the biggest foundations in the United States including those such as the David
and Lucile Packard Foundation, the William H. Gates Foundation, the Ford
Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Howard
Heinz Endowments, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
These and other foundations, all based on the enormous economic engine of
capitalism are funding a socialist and communist organ bent on global
government.

The list of NGOs who would ultimately rule is so vast you need to visit
the
web site of Sovereignty International to examine it. It includes radical
environmental organizations, groups devoted to controlling the world's
population, and countless others who pursue agendas so foreign to American
values they would destroy everything for which Americans have fought and died
to preserve and protect.

At its core, the UN is anti-American. Its main body, the Security
Council,
is manipulated by Russia and China who use their veto power to the detriment
of American interests. The other main body, the General Assembly, is comprised
of 188 nations, some of whom have populations less than the States of New
Jersey or Rhode Island. The third element of power at the UN is the Secretary-
General. Kofi Annan has functioned as a foreign agent for Iraq, permitting it
to remain a member in good standing despite its flaunting of UN restrictions
on its efforts to produce weapons of mass destruction, and turning a blind eye
to the primary sponsor of terrorism, Iran.

The 'Millennium Summit' would drastically alter even this sinister power
structure. It would strip the Security Council of its veto power and, in doing
so, remove the last instrument of control the U.S. would have, along with its
status as a permanent member.

The 'Millennium Summit' would grant the UN oversight, i.e. control, of
all
of the earth's land, air and seas. They will vote to give the UN oversight of
international conflicts despite its long record of dismal failures. The Summit
will grant the UN power over all financial institutions, commerce, trade
relations, labor relations, education and private property. The U.S. Congress,
the States, and all communities throughout America would exist solely to carry
out the mandates of the UN.

There are two excellent analyses of what fate awaits us that are easily
available to you. One can be found on this web site. It is Henry Lamb's
article about the UN Charter for Global Democracy and the other can be found
on the web site of the American Policy Center in an article by Tom DeWeese
entitled "The 'Final Solution' for American Independence." For more
information, you should visit the web site of Sovereignty International and
Eco-Logic, both of whom can be accessed from the home page of The National
Anxiety Center.

By now, you may be asking yourself why you have read practically nothing
in
the mainstream press of this nation? Why, with the future of national and
worldwide sovereignty at stake, has the "Millennium Summit" been ignored? Why
have we heard nothing from the White House or the members of Congress who
should be speaking out against this attack on the U.S. Constitution?

One reason might be because 56 members of Congress are dedicated
socialists, members of the Democratic Socialists of America! It is the largest
socialist organization in the nation and the principle U.S. affiliate of the
Socialist International. As for the President and Vice President, their
actions have demonstrated their leftist commitment to the goals of a New World
Order.

What Lenin and Stalin could not impose on the world, what Hitler could
not
impose on the world, will be enacted at the United Nations "Millennium
Summit" on September 6 through the 8th. The only way to avoid this is for the
United States Congress to vote to withdraw from the United Nations. When that
occurs, the entire house of cards will fall. The UN cannot exist financially
without the support it receives from U.S. taxpayers. The UN is the enemy of
the United States and freedom-living people everywhere in the world. This
sham, perpetrated on the world by communists and their sympathizers must end.

The new millennium that has dawned must be dedicated to freedom. But
first
we must free ourselves from the threat of global government by un-elected
individuals and groups who would enslave us all.
