Lie number one. NAMBLA supports decriminalization of "otherwise positive"
relationships between adults and minors. Formed in the late 70's over
abuse of teenage gays in Boston by homophobic Irish Cops using age of
consent laws to browbeat them into disclosing the names of older sexual
partners, the organization hardly presumes to tell people who to have sex
with, or even that they should be having sex at all.
I also think NAMBLA is largely irrelevant in the days of the Net, where
even minority viewpoints on every issue are only a mouseclick away.
We hardly live in an era where only negative accounts of transgenerational
relationships can be published, and the dissenting point of view has to be
delivered by mail in a brown paper envelope.
> Barbara and Robert Curley are also suing the Internet Service Provider
> that hosts the Web site operated by the North American Man Boy Love
> Association.
These people just want a show trial for the purpose of preventing NAMBLA
from disseminating its point of view on social issues. It's not like the
organization has any large assets that can be seized. Now that those
pushing the sex abuse agenda have silenced most of their other critics,
they think they can pick off the few remaining ones easily.
The Curley murder has nothing to do with NAMBLA, or with anything NAMBLA
has ever advocated.
Someone has been watching too much Oprah.
