The Circle of HOPE Call for Participation

Tips for Submission

The Circle of HOPE will take place at New York City’s Hotel Pennsylvania from
July 20th through July 22nd, 2018. Submissions are now open for speakers,
workshops, and more.

In 2018, the Hackers On Planet Earth conference series continues with fresh
ideas on all aspects of hacking. With over 50,000 square feet for speakers,
panels, workshops, exhibits, music, art, and open space, this will be the place
to be.

The Circle of HOPE seeks proposals for content and activities to make this the
most amazing HOPE event ever. HOPE encourages all approaches and
interpretations to hacking: hackers, makers, developers, teachers, learners,
and experimenters. If you have a passion for discovering how things work and
sharing that knowledge, you have the hacker spirit.

Some of the topics from past HOPE events have included:

    social engineering
    culture jamming
    outer space
    science and math
    hacker ethos and lifestyles
    food, medicine, and your body
    bio hacking
    robotics and human-machine interaction
social justice, legal and political systems
    phones, telecommunication, and beyond
    technology threats and opportunities

and much, much more

HOPE is searching for innovative subjects and presentation formats. Come and
show us what you’ve got!

Call for Speakers: Email your proposal to speak...@hope.net. Include a proposed
title and abstract. Provide enough information so it is clear why HOPE
attendees would find your topic interesting, new, and relevant. Also include a
brief biography. Most speaker/panel sessions are allotted 50 minutes, including
time for Q&A. All types of presentations are encouraged, from solo talks to
panels, debates, demonstrations, and interactive discussions.

Call for More! HOPE invites any idea that might fit in the time and space
available. Got art, music, movies, or some sort of performance idea? Want to
host a village on the Pavilion floor? Do you have special content that doesn't
seem to fit into any of the other categories? Email your idea, along with
information about what it involves, to cir...@hope.net.

All submissions will receive an automated response.
