It's surprising to me how much value there is around specifically what something is, when there's so little evidence.
The response here should be to set up _public_ monitoring so we can see what the things are better when they next arrive, like is usually done for astronomy. How close is that monitoring to completion? Is it trustworthy? How can we help build, maintain, and verify it? _shrug_
