i'm guessing that new positive things could be worth much more than any possible criticism, at least until the positive parts have stabilised. similarly when supporting something in a disruptive behavior, it's likely good to preface any apparent support with concern or warning around the disruption; something to share recognition that what's going on there is not really the small topic.
