honestly all the run_mlm, run_clm scripts used here really bug me, partly because it is so difficult to bidirectionally interoperate python code with shell code, especially in a reusable way
but secretly mostly or also because it takes so much more =memory to use two things and move between more panes ... and other issues i have with shifting gears and writing implementations
