i was going to think a different mandelbrot thought but i did stumble
on this one:
i wonder if you could draw the mandelbrot set super-quickly by
inferring a nonrecursive local definition of its patterns. these
clearly exist locally, and likely it was an approach used for fast
mandelbrot renderers in the 80s. i wonder if there is a global
transform of its shape into something more shape-based and less
imaginary-exponent based. i wonder how big a model you would need to
predict it to a given accuracy. what if it were a small one?
