I've made a lot of progress on my attempt to use cosmos. After sharing about it I ran into confounding network issues, and it made sense to write a direct peer. The protocol was more involved than expected, and it was quite satisfying to get the handshake working. I only need a couple of the parts running to give a lot more options navigating network issues. [this would be much easier if i established comparable programming ease with go].
It was big for me to get that handshake working, and I'm taking a break and seeing if I can find a different task. It makes sense behavior-pattern/abilities wise to try some mcboss spam ....
