[one approach, like say you just had one phone with gps and were
wondering where a bird was singing from, could be to find identical
sounds in a recording and compare their magnitudes at different spots
in the single recording. this is a comparable problem to multichannel
separation with the additional complexity that each instance of the
sound is a little different. [i’ve always wanted to see if this could
be done so as to separate out the components of a signal that vary and
might relate to details about it and its nature of production and
other things]]
