A Texas and Georgia-based affiliate of consumer lending company TMX Finance
has sued the secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and
Securities, challenging an order from the department that the company says
seeks over $52 million in civil penalties over claims tied to loan
agreements that allegedly carry interest rates as high as 720%.
