The secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities has
urged a Texas federal judge to toss a suit from an affiliate of consumer
lending company TMX Finance, challenging an order from the department
seeking more than $52 million in civil penalties over claims tied to loan
agreements that allegedly carry interest rates up to 720%.
