The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to hear arguments over the
constitutionality of Louisiana's new congressional map containing two
majority-Black voting districts, in a dispute that asks the justices to
harmonize the Voting Rights Act's objectives with the language of the 14th
Amendment's equal protection clause.
