The former acting chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission unit
in charge of overseeing cybersecurity and cryptocurrency-related cases has
been promoted to chief litigation counsel, expanding his oversight
authority even as a more crypto-friendly administration is slated to enter
the Oval Office in January.
