A New York state court Wednesday gave the initial OK to New York City's
agreement to pay a class of over 20,000 individuals up to $92.5 million to
resolve decadelong allegations the city unlawfully detained immigrants for
days or weeks longer than allowed under U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement detainers.
