Danielle R. Sassoon, the interim U.S. attorney for the Southern District of
New York, resigned Thursday after she refused an order by U.S. Department
of Justice officials to drop the federal corruption charges against New
York City Mayor Eric Adams and expressed concern the move was part of an
improper quid pro quo with President Donald Trump.
