Interesting that napster has bootstrapped more general file sharing networks. Not just conceptually (though perhaps only that zebra mussel is more aggressive than that meme) but with content. AFAIK most alter-napster traffic is still mp3s. I imagine in a year or two this message will be quaint, the fiber will be shining with flics. The point? Recognizing how techs infiltrate meatspace. First you get electric lights. Then you get fractional-horsepower motors. First you send credit card numbers with 40 RC-4 bit keys. Later, your fridge orders more milk using 2048 bit/256 bit protocols.
